Day 3

Morning on the beach
It was an awesome feeling to wake up early in the morning on a beach. At around 7, the boat owner had returned and he started asking us money for using his boat. Somehow, we convinced him that we had sat there for just 5 minutes. Next, we went to the Sulabh Complex to get freshen up, filled our vehicles' tanks with petrol and decided to go to Wagator beach & Chapora fort (the same place where Dil Chahta Hai was shot) after all we had the vehicles with us untill noon.

Wagator beach & Chapora Fort
Wagator beach

It was fun riding up to Chapora fort's base from Baaga beach. Apurv had a slight idea about its location but we followed the sign boards and eventually ended up at the base. From there after a slight hike, we got in the fort to savor the fantastic views of Wagator beach on one side, Chapora Lagoon on the other side and the vast expenses of Arabian sea till horizon.

Sapan-Kalantri ka Katta aur hum sab ko laga Chuna
We had spent quite a lot of time at Chapora. Besides just when we were about to return to Calangute (for giving back the hired bikes), Sapan-Kalantri's vehicle got punctured and getting it repaired ate up a lot of our time. This was the 2nd time those 2 got screwed up in Goa. (earlier they were caught by Goa police for riding without license and had to pay hefty amount as fine).

Due to all this we got late in returning the hired vehicles and had a hard time explaining the mental rental guys who started demanding twice the rent. We finally ended up paying some extra money. The 6 other guys (the Royals) had quietly got their tickets booked for Bhadravathi and were returning by the noon bus.

Miramar Beach
After reaching Panaji Bus stand we too got our tickets booked for the evening bus.We still had some 3 hours with us and so after having our lunch at a Goa restaurant we went to spend some time at Miramar beach. We finally left Goa by the 5'O clock bus.

Goodbye Goa
In one and a half days we had covered quite a lot of ground. But that's exactly the nature of our non-luxury, fast-paced, backpack traveling with friends.

I had very low expectations from Goa but I wasn't disappointed. Infact, the free spirit of the place had definitely impressed me. I identified myself with it.
