Prologue & Day 1

Time for Break
After spending 3 weeks on our respective projects, we felt it was just the right time to take an extended weekend break.
Bhadra Reservoir
Though we had visited Bhadra dam the previous week and enjoyed it thoroughly, we still wanted the real thrill.
Discussions were on where to go. Some were in favour of Coastal Karnataka (which I had visited the previous week), while few others were thinking about checking out Heritage sites in North Karnataka (Hampi, Pattadakal, Badami, etc).

I was interested in going to Wayanad (Kerala) and so I convinced everybody for Ooty alongwith Wayanad (Ooty was anyways in everybody's agenda).

Planning
We then started working out on planning the route. The best and the only option was Bhadravati- Mysore - Ooty. Akshat had earlier visited Ooty so he was primarily covering its planning. I took the charge of Wayanad whereas Mysore was in everybody's domain. And as usual the trio of Jagadish-Abhay-Amaan did the work of building up enthu for the trip.

11 People-One trip : Chaos
This time about 11 people of different variety and flavors were coming. No doubt the crowd was big and managing it would be a difficult task. Even though Mysore, Ooty, Coonoor, etc were commercial and easy places but the same wasn't true about Wayanad.

I was worried because Wayanad was notorious for its rough and wet weather and I wasn't sure if everybody would be comfortable with the rawness the place had.  Hence, I felt it was best to visit the popular destination like Ooty first (with everyone) and then those who were still interested could join me for Wayanad while others might get back to Mysore.

Day 1 : 18th June
After much commotion the 11 player team was decided. Besides, the usual Amaan, Akshat, Jagadish, Abhay, Myself, Santosh, Thakela and Apurv, this time we were privileged by the presence of esteemed Gults from BITS Hyderabad (Nanda & Vinay).
The Escape
We slipped from our executive hostel (right under the sniffing nose of our You-Know-Who). He never approved any of our trips so there wasn't any sense in asking or even informing him, and so we didn't. We reached the bus stand at around 10:30 PM to catch the overnight bus for Mysore.  Everybody had their own theory for getting into the bus and eventually, amidst all the chaos we ended up missing it. But we finally managed to catch the 11:30 bus. I occupied the window seat with Santosh next to me and slept peacefully in anticipation of a great trip ahead.
